END  OF  AN  ERA

The articles linked below show that Obama has ended a 30 year moratorium on nuclear power plant construction in the United States.  He has now invested $8.3 billion of your hard-earned dollars on two new nuclear power plants in Georgia.  This will add to those nuclear reactors which already exist in the United States.

It should be noted that there are 23 nuclear reactors in the United States which are of the same basic General Electric (GE) design as those damaged and leaking reactors at the Fukushima nuclear facility in Japan.  Stored with these potentially dangerous reactors are large pools loaded, often overloaded, with radioactive fuel rods.  These all need to find a new home.

104  NUCLEAR  REACTORS

There are about 104 nuclear reactors in the United States, and these have stored and dangerous nuclear waste on-site.  It appears we are now adding more nuclear facilities within the United States, which simply means more radioactive nuclear waste scattered around the country with nowhere to go, and more potential accidents waiting to happen.

Yes, the government indicates that it would like to move all this dangerous waste to a site it will soon choose, since Obama  "illegally"  closed down the Yucca Mountain repository project.

In the meantime, the government has been dumping radioactive waste at Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington state, along the Columbia River.  There is the potential for even more dangerous radioactive waste to be dumped at this site in the future.

EXCESSIVE  AND  DANGEROUS  WASTE

The article linked below declares:  "The nuclear crisis in Japan has laid bare an ever-growing problem for the United States  ---  the enormous amounts of still-hot radioactive waste accumulating at commercial nuclear reactors in more than 30 states."  Some of the fuel storage pools at commercial nuclear reactors are filled to four times their design capacity.

The article further states:  "Safety advocates have long urged the NRC to force utility operators to reduce the amount of spent fuel in their pools.  The more tightly packed they are, the more quickly they can overheat and spew radiation into the environment in case of an accident, a natural disaster or a terrorist attack."

Actually, the true problem does not lie with the nuclear plant operators, but with the U.S. govenment and its failure to provide a safe nuclear repository, as required by law.

OBAMA-TYPE  CHANGE

In the midst of our steadily increasing nuclear waste fiasco, it appears that the Obama administration has not worked to make things better for the people of the United States.  It appears that his administration has simply worked hard to make things worse for us.

The government has already spent about $9 billion or more of your hard-earned money developing the Yucca Mountain nuclear repository site.  But, once again, Obama and his cronies decided on their own, illegally, without congressional approval, to squash that  "nuclear repository"  project.

Now, while completely lacking a place to put nuclear waste, Obama has called for expanding the nuclear power industry.  Does that sound like really smart thinking, or is there another agenda?

A  COSTLY  RACKET

In the article linked here, it appears that utilities have come up with quite an ingenious racket for dealing with the storage of their used and dangerous nuclear fuel rods.  They are building casks for holding these fuel rods on-site.  Then they are periodically suing the U.S. government to pay for the casks.

A  DERELICT  GOVERNMENT ?

The government doesn't really seem to care about getting sued for breach of contract, and why should it?  It is not their money covering these lawsuits.  It is your money, yes, the tax dollars which you are required to pay.  In other words, the politicians which you have voted in are seriously wasting your money.  To make matters worse, they vote themselves a pay raise whenever they think they can get away with it.

GOVERNMENT  WASTE

The article linked here, notes that some European countries  "reprocess their spent fuel into new nuclear fuel to help reduce the amount of waste."  But, in the United States government, it appears good logic does not always prevail.

The article, linked above, states further:  "Even though there is no long-term storage in the U.S., utility customers and taxpayers have been paying for it  —  twice."  Yes, this has been an ongoing problem for many years and it appears Obama has only compounded the problem by illegally closing the Yucca Mountain repository project, after a considerable amount of money and work has gone into it.

The acts of the Obama administration have only worked to push a true and relatively safe nuclear repository many more years into the future.  This has greatly increased the likelyhood of a deadly, radiation-spreading accident in the years ahead.

THE  OBAMA  RIP-OFF

Once again, the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) has been charging American utilities for a nuclear repository project at Yucca Mountain in Nevada for many years.  These costs are passed along to the ratepayers:  yes, you and me.  There is at least $24 billion in the Nuclear Waste Fund set aside for building this repository at Yucca Mountain.  So what is the problem?

Futher funding for the Yucca Mountain nuclear repository project was illegally cancelled on orders from Obama and energy secretary Stephen Chu.  For more information about Obama and his administration's illegal closing of the Yucca Mountain nuclear repository, plus other questionable shenanigans, simply click on the buttons below.

AN  ACT  OF  CONGRESS

Under the Bush administration, Congress legislated for the construction of a federal nuclear repository at Yucca Mountain.  The DoE, under Obama, has apparently and illegally substituted their own ideas (actually Obama and his cronies' ideas) for those of Congress and stopped the Yucca Mountain  "nuclear repository"  project.

According to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) independent Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, the DoE  "is bound by law to complete its work at Yucca Mountain unless Congress acts to supercede the previous legislation,"  which it has not.  Unfortunately, it appears the NRC Commissioners have been derelict and possibly criminally negligent regarding their duty to uphold the law.

But, it appears that Obama is not done with political slipperiness.  It appears he is trying to do an illegal  "end run"  on Congress and go further astray from constitutional legitimacy.  Obama has appointed a so-called  "Blue Ribbon"  commission to illegally force through a different site for nuclear storage.  Possibly this will waste precious time and prevent the United States from ever having a safe nuclear repository.

BREACH  OF  CONTRACT

The Wikipedia page linked below, about the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository, indicates, once again, that U.S. citizens are being ripped off by the U.S. government.  The U.S. government, thanks in a large degree to politicians, has failed all along to live up to its contractual requirement to provide a designated long-term disposal site for nuclear waste.  The webpage linked below clearly indicates that this breach of contract  "will cost the taxpayer $11 billion by 2020."

POLITICAL  ACCOUNTABILITY

At this point, a serious question needs to be asked.  Why should the citizens of the United States have to pay for the mistakes and possible criminal-type, underhanded dealings of politicians?  Potentially derelict politicians should be made directly and financially responsible for being derelict of duty, just like every other citizen.

There needs to be an important change in the laws of the United States.  Let's make politicians personally, financially and criminally responsible for being derelict of duty, just like certain other government workers, like air traffic controllers, under certain circumstances.

BASICS  OF  YUCCA  MOUNTAIN

The Yucca Mountain site in Nevada is a relatively good place, geologically, for storing nuclear waste deep underground.  It is not located near an important major river system which could become seriously poisoned with radioactive materials.  The safety of Yucca Mountain in noted in the articles linked below.

In the webpage linked here, the U.S. Government Accountability Office declared that Yucca Mountain was not closed because of technical or safety reasons.  This is also noted in the article linked here.

The vitally important Yucca Mountain project was cancelled simply because of an illegal Obama policy decision (amounting to a  "kingly decree" or a dictatorial act), which possibly was initiated by his handlers.

At first look, this closure of the Yucca Mountain project appears to have been done purely as a political favor to Harry Reid (D) of Nevada.  But, there may actually be much more to this story, as will be noted later.

HANFORD  AND  YUCCA  MOUNTAIN

The article linked below declares:  "Recent news about the Hanford nuclear reservation near Tri-Cities has not been encouraging.  And the lack of news about the proposed Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository in Nevada is equally troubling."

It appears that U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu may be hindering the cleanup efforts at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation.  He, and the Obama administration, are also hindering progress for a national nuclear repository at Yucca Mountain.

The article above declares:  "The Nevada plan was shelved for purely political reasons as campaigns intensified for the 2010 election and U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., became engaged in a desperate defense of his post.  Well, Reid has been re-elected and it’s time for the federal government to resume the Yucca Mountain project, where it already has spent almost $15 billion."

ENDANGERING  THE  NATION

Yes, it appears Obama has placed the nation in a dangerous perdicament, just so he could get his Nevada crony, Harry Reid, re-elected by the people of that state.  In the process, it appears that Obama has made a serious and potentially deadly mess for the citizens of virtually the whole United States.

Especially in the nuclear arena, it appears that Obama has not worked in the best interests of the United States' citizens in general, but in the best interests of his cronies and political handlers, both foreign and domestic.

PUBLIC  FEELINGS

The article, linked below, states very clearly the feelings of certain U.S. citizens regarding the Yucca Mountain project.  The article states things as many people believe it truly is regarding Obama, Reid and Yucca Mountain.

The article below comes to us from our highly irradiated friends in the Tri-Cities area of southeast Washington state.  These people live right next to that nightmare:  the extremely toxic and radioactive Hanford Nuclear Reservation.

The article linked above indicates that the good people of the Tri-Cities, located by the problematic Hanford Nuclear Reservation, are greatly upset with political corruption in the U.S. govenment which spawned the closure of the Yucca Mountain nuclear repository.

To add to what should truly become public outrage, the Obama administration has so far wasted at least $24 billion of citizens' money, by cancelling the Yucca Mountain  "nuclear repository"  project.  Thanks Obama.

But, again, there is actually much more to this story about Yucca Mountain, as will be noted later in this discussion.

"THE  TROUBLEMAKERS"

In the article linked below, scroll down to the blue section under the heading 'Nevada county officials show nuclear support.'  The following is declared:  "Some counties would just as soon see nuclear energy go away, but Nye County, Nevada officials have a different opinion.  They want the federal government to restart the process of developing Yucca Mountain, in the county, as the nation’s first high-level radioactive waste repository."

The article below states that, on the local level around Yucca Mountain, there is a lot of support for the Yucca Mountain nuclear repository.  It appears that the problems are mainly being caused by Senator Harry Reid and his band of cohorts out of Las Vegas.  It strongly appears that Harry Reid and his cohorts are creating some serious trouble for our nation as a whole, in regards to our nuclear waste crisis.

ANOTHER  LOOK  AT  YUCCA  MOUNTAIN

Now it is time to consider what may have been the true intent for Yucca Mountain from the very beginning.  Possibly the U.S. government deceived U.S. citizens into believing that Yucca Mountain was to be a repository for high-level nuclear wastes, such as dangerous old fuel rods from nuclear power plants.  Possibly, a far different purpose has been intended all along.

The U.S. government could have quietly continued onward with their true plans for Yucca Mountain, had not the nuclear catastophy at Fukushia, Japan suddenly highlighted the lack of a safe storage facility for old nuclear fuel in the United States.  All of a sudden, Yucca Mountain was back in the spotlight and people were beginning to demand the completion of its nuclear repository.

LOOKING  AT  POSSIBILITIES

Whenever the U.S. government begins tunneling a large network of passageways underground, they possibly have one purpose in mind.  Possibly they simply want a new fortress for the elite controllers and handlers who own the U.S. government.  With this thought in mind, let us consider other similar U.S. government installations.

CHEYENNE  MOUNTAIN

The article linked below tells about another massive U.S. government installation which is tunneled deep under a mountain.  This is the Cheyenne Mountain facility.  It is a fortress for some of the controllers and owners of the U.S. government.

The article below speaks of the obsolescence of the massive Cheyenne Mountain facility.  This obsolescence may be the reason for building a new underground complex at Yucca Mountain.

RAVEN  ROCK  MOUNTAIN

The buttons linked below are an introduction to the underground Raven Rock Mountain Complex (Site R), a large government bunker located near Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.  Yes, Yucca Mountain could be even much better.

MOUNT  WEATHER  AND  OTHERS

The articles linked below regard the Mount Weather facility in Virginia, plus other commonly known underground facilities in the United States.  Then there are a number of lesser know sites scattered throughout the United States.  Will Yucca Mountain soon be added to the list?

OBVIOUS  CONCLUSION

Obama has declared that Yucca Mountain is  "not an option"  for a nuclear repository.  That information is included in the article linked below.

With the cancelling of Yucca Mountain as a relatively safe national nuclear repository, other uses are being discussed for its network of underground tunnels.  In all of this, one thing is becoming rather obvious.  The Yucca Mountain facility could readily become a new, state of the art bunker.  Possibly that is what was intended all along.

Among the remaining questions may be:  For whom is this large bunker intended and at what time?  That may be something to consider in the times ahead.
